GREETINGS JPSA FAMILY!
We hope everyone is staying well during this unprecedented time and now that we have finally made it to May (certainly has been a long couple of months), we wanted to send out this update regarding our upcoming plans.
COVID19 UPDATE:
The Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA) has implemented a comprehensive ban on all soccer activities through May 30, 2020. In addition, all LSA programs, events and tournaments have been cancelled through June 30, 2020. As per LSA’s recommendation, Phase 2 of re-opening would commence on June 1, 2020 and this would include the ability to begin having limited soccer activities that observe social distancing guidelines to protect the health of our community. Following success of Phase 2, our hope would be a swift transition into Phase 3 of the plan, which would bring back full practices and scrimmages. Although our Spring Season was cancelled and our Summer season may be limited- we are hopeful that by Fall, we will be fully back into the swing of things!!!!
STATE OF JPSA:
We understand this is an uncertain time and so we want to be as transparent with everyone in order to reassure you all that have been so supportive of JPSA since day 1! When we were just beginning plans to form JPSA, we consulted with small business experts and financial advisors that specialize in nonprofit organizations in order to create a contingency plan that would protect the club and keep it financially sound in the event of any unforeseen event or circumstance. We have also gone above-and-beyond to keep all overhead costs as low as possible and to be fiscally responsible (no frivolous spending). This has allowed us to keep registration fees as low as possible and focuses the bulk of our revenue to benefit the children directly.
We are proud to say that because of the steps taken in preparation for unforeseen circumstances, we have been able to maintain a budget surplus, which means all revenue (via fundraising, sponsors and fees) we have accumulated since day one exceeds current expenses. We have maintained all relationships with our sponsors and keep in constant contact with members of Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation (JPRD), Jefferson Parish Council and other supporters during this time. We also have an incredibly qualified Financial Analysis team who also serve on our Board and oversee our books to assure our success.
We want you all to know we work daily behind the scenes to make sure that when we are finally given the green light, we will be able to start back up without missing a beat! We just want you all to be 100% reassured that JPSA will return very soon and we will continue to grow and become a leader within the youth soccer community. We appreciate everyone’s continued support and cannot wait to get back on the field!
